Sarkodie...loving mother tongue.

Ghanaian rap star Michael Owusu Addo a.k.a Sarkodie said he finds English language limiting when doing his songs.
Speaking during a chat on The Fuse podcast, Sarkodie said rapping in his mother tongue Twi makes him have superiority over his craft.
“Rapping in Twi is my superpower. I express myself way better in my mother’s tongue. The emotions I want to put out come out best when I rap in my native language.
“I started rapping in English but felt like I was beneath someone when I rap in English. But when I rap in Twi, I feel equal to any other rapper in the world,” he explained.
However, according to music experts, Ghanaian artists are lagging behind their Nigerian Afrobeats counterparts in the global space because of their use of their local dialect to sing or rap.
