Though Atletico Madrid scrapped up a 1-0 win over Deportivo de La Coruna in Sunday’s Laliga match, Ademola Lookman’s contribution came under scrutiny.
Atletico insider, Jesus Colino, said the club is worried Lookman keep dipping in form this season. Coach Diego Simeone pulled him out of the game at half time, making it the third time Lookman had been replaced in four La Liga games.
“He was the Atletico player who touched the ball the least, and in Deportivo’s half, all but one of his passes were backwards,” said Colino
“He didn’t attempt a single dribble either. Substituted at halftime. His form continues to decline.”
However, Lookman had peformed well for Atletico in their Champions League games. He scored against Manchester United and made an assist in Atletico Madrid’s 1-1 draw with VfB Stuttgart.
