Former Super Eagles top striker Emmanuel Emenike has accused Nigerian governors and other politicians of mismanaging the country’s wealth.
Emenike who won the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles in 2013, said Nigeria’s main industry was now embezzlement of public funds. He also slammed law enforcement agents of protecting these corrupt politicians.
“The arrogancy and confidence in some of these governors make me sick, and a lot of them don’t have good plans for the future of their state zero plans; e.g., just embezzle money, and una police and army go still follow them with empty stomachs, jokers.
“Nigeria is finished and gone. We thought it was a country when we played, not knowing that it is an embezzlement ground. Embezzlement group of companies,” Emenike spoke his mind on Instagram social media platform.
Emenike made 37 appearances for the Super Eagles and scored nine goals in his four-year stint with the national team.
Emenike, 39, since retiring from football has gone in business and estate development. He manages properties in Lagos, Dubai and London. He is also into fashion and hospitality business, and he is said to be worth $17.3m
