Wanted Dutch drug kingpin Jos Leijdekkers taking refuge in Sierra Leone is said to have funneled billions of dollars into the country’s economy.
Bolle Jos as he is popularly known has allegedly turned Sierra-Leone into a hub of the international cocaine trade, with billions in drug money following through the local economy each year.
According to reports by the Dutch media prosecutors in Netherlands have offered a record reward of 200,000 euros for a tip leading to the arrest of the drug kingpin, who has been convicted in both Belgium and the Netherlands. He is also on the list of Europe’s most-wanted.
Bolle Jos, 35, is said to be in a relationship with the daughter of Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio and carries a diplomatic passport.
He reported to be in love with Agnes Bio, Sierra Leon’s President’s daughter, with whom he now has a child. The Dutchman has invested in mines and real estate, among other things.
Dutch Justice Minister David van Weel (VVD) said that the EU is cutting part of its financial aid to Sierra Leone as the country is not cooperating on the extradition request.
