The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will on Thursday, October 8, hear an appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) over the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30am behind closed doors at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, and is expected to continue into the afternoon.
Representatives of the Senegal and Morocco football federations are expected to attend the hearing in person, while CAF will be represented by its legal team. The three-member CAS panel comprises Professor Gerald Simon of France as President, Professor Luigi Fumagalli of Italy and Professor Dr Ulrich Haas of Germany.
The proceedings will be conducted in French, in accordance with an agreement reached by the parties.
Confederation of African Football Appeal Board had stripped Senegal of the 2025 title after they beat Morocco in the tempestuous and contentious final. Senegal had briefly walked off the pitch citing bias officiating when a penalty was awarded against them, shortly after a goal of their own was disallowed without VAR review.
Senegal came back into the pitch and later scored in extra time. Morocco protested that the game should have been called off when they walked off the pitch.
