All Progressives Congress (APC) top member, Abayomi Nurain Mumuni has dismissed the plan to recruit 4,000 social media influencers to promote President Bola Tinubu’s achievements, because they speak for themselves.
Minister of works Mr. David Umahi had last week revealed the plan during a meeting with members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who embarked on inspection tour of federal road projects in Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna and Sokoto states.
“This government does not need influencers or paid voices to speak for it because the evidence is undeniable,” Mumuni, in a statement signed by his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, on Sunday.
“When this administration assumed office, we were teetering on the edge of an abyss, and our people were crying out in desperation. Yet, in these months, we have witnessed a government that refused to surrender to despair.
” President Tinubu did not shy away from difficult decisions, decisions that required courage, vision, and an unwavering commitment to our collective future. He inherited a broken system, yet he chose to heal it rather than exploit it,” he said.
Mumuni, an author and security expert, also defended the administration against criticisms over insecurity and economic hardship, arguing that the challenges predated Tinubu’s assumption of office.
“Basically, we must understand that President Tinubu is not the architect of the crisis we are exiting. He inherited a house on fire and has been working tirelessly to extinguish the flames,” he said.
