Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has threatened to drag Nigeria’s minister of defence General Christopher Musa rtd to court over his allegations he El Rufai planned the killings in Kaduna South.
General Musa rtd during an interview on Channels TV last week maintained that El-Rufai while occupying the seat of power actively planned the killings that occurred in Kaduna South.
But El-Rufai and his family were not amused; they demanded that he prove his allegations and if he cannot, he should make a public apology, otherwise he would be facing a lawsuit. El-Rufai’s lawyer Ubong Akpan in a letter dated September 7, 2026 gave General Musa rtd and his representatives seven days to provide a substantive written response to the demands.
“In the absence of such evidence, we call on him to publicly retract the allegation through the same medium on which it was made.
“Accordingly, General Musa (Rtd.) is hereby given seven (7) days from the date of this statement to either provide evidence in support of his allegation or issue a full public retraction and apology.
“Failure to do so will leave the family with no option but to pursue all appropriate legal remedies available under the law in response to these unsubstantiated allegations,” part of the letter read.
