President Bola Tinubu is facing yet another legal battle concerning his declared age of 70, as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to prove in court Tinubu is 90 years old.
Atiku who is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election said he has evidence Tinubu has repeatedly lied about his true age.
“You went and voted for someone who is 90 years old. I have evidence that President Tinubu is 90 years old and I will present it in court,” Atiku said during a BBC Hausa interview.
Speaking on his ambition to become President which has failed to materialise after many attempts he added.
“I ran for governor four times, because at that position, the people who were in charge of Nigeria’s transition to democracy were military, and I was so anti-military. Any time I won, they would disqualify me,” Atiku said.
Atiku said his repeated attempts to become president were not unusual given his political history, adding that he possessed the experience, competence and patriotism needed to serve the country.
