American military casualties in the war with Iran have reached 774, including 18 fatalities, according to the latest figures from the Pentagon’s casualty reporting system.
The Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) indicates that 756 service members have sustained injuries since the war commenced on Feb. 28.
The data is now divided into two distinct periods, reflecting a shift in the conflict’s diplomatic and military status.
The first phase, labeled Operation Epic Fury, accounts for 14 deaths and 417 wounded. Among these fatalities, seven were classified as hostile deaths, including those killed in action or who died of wounds. The remaining seven deaths in this category resulted from accidents or undetermined causes, primarily affecting the US Air Force and Navy.
A second category, titled Overseas Operations, tracks losses sustained since July 7, the period after the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran was rendered virtually ineffective and one day before President Donald Trump officially declared the ceasefire “over.” This phase has recorded four hostile deaths, all from the US Army, and 341 wounded personnel.
The US Army has borne the heaviest burden of the conflict, with 11 total fatalities and 589 injuries across both reporting segments. AA
