Moroccan social media influencer Soukaina Janah a.k.a Soukaina Glamour will appear at the Court of First Instance in Marrakech Monday over allegations of posting “indecent” content which violated country’s laws.
Soukaina Glamour with over 1 million followers across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube was arrested on Wednesday August 12 by policemen at the Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, in Nouaceur, as she prepared to leave country. She blamed AI for the manipulations of the images.
She is currently being held in a Marrakech prison and according to prosecutors she be in custody while her trial lasts.
According to reports by MarocHebdo Soukaina Glamour had, however, apologized to the Moroccan public in a video posted just hours before her arrest.
Known on social media for regularly posting controversial digital content, Soukaina Glamour previously made headlines in 2019 during the “Hamza Mon Bébé” affair; in that case, she was prosecuted and sentenced to two years in prison for making abusive and defamatory remarks about national celebrities.
