Iranian military commanders have placed a $30,000 for the capture or kill of any United States of American soldiers with women promised a double amount if they pull off the act.
IRNA news agency quotes Army Chief Army Chief, Amir Hatami as saying that that the initiative was introduced following requests from individuals seeking to contribute financially to the country’s military efforts.
Under the scheme, anyone who kills or captures and hands over a US military personnel would receive the equivalent of $30,000, or five billion Iranian tomans, from the Iranian Army.
Hatami added that Iranian women who successfully carry out such an act would be eligible for twice the standard reward.
“Courageous Iranian women who carry out such an action will receive double the reward,” he said.
The US, Iran conflict is in its sixth month with both sides violating the ceasefire agreements. The control of the Strait of Hormuz remains a thorny issue.
President Donald Trump said at the weekend that he would “soon” declare the Strait of Hormuz a US territory.
“After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated — pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States,” Trump said at a rally at a police academy in Garden City, New York state. “It’s true,” he added.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi dismissed Trump’s remarks, saying the country would “not be intimidated” and that the strategic waterway would remain under its control and authority.
