Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta has urged officials of his former club to waste no time in signing Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Spanish LaLiga champions have Osimhen on the sights, but he is not a priority signing mainly because of the money involved, they are now focused Julian Alvarez. But according to Iniesta, since Atletico Madrid are not willing to let Alverez join Barcelona, the club should consider Osimhen who will be happy to change address.
“Lamine Yamal is a fantastic player, but I wouldn’t prefer him playing as a number 9. If Ferran Torres leaves, I would strongly advise Deco to sign a striker. I don’t think Atletico Madrid will let Julian Alvarez go. I would suggest they sign Victor Osimhen. He’s a fantastic goalscorer and one of the best replacements for Robert Lewandowski,” Iniesta was quoted by NTV Spor
For two seasons Osimhen has remain consistent with Galatasaray of Turkey helping them win back-to-back Super Lig title and reaching the last 16 of the Champions League. Though he is happy to stay in Turkey, Osimhen is ready to move if great offers that meet his wage demands come his way.
Osimhen is reportedly seeking a net salary of around €15 million per season, plus performance-related bonuses. Under Spain’s tax system, that would cost Barcelona close to €30 million gross annually, while Galatasaray expect around
€70m to €75m to consider any deal.
