President Tinubu and Cardinal Onaiyekan...truth must be told.

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has dismissed claims by the presidency Catholic Bishops who visited President Bola Tinubu last week were partisan in their presentations.
Cardinal John Onaiyekan had laid out details of their conversation with President Tinubu, and his minders did not like what he said during an interview he had with Arise TV.
Cardinal Onaiyekan said the government was doing everything it can to remain in power, despite not meeting the expectations of the masses who elected them. Daniel Bwala Tinubu’s adviser on communications said he was talking on behalf on Peter Obi who is a Catholic.
“From the era of military rule and throughout the period of civilian governments, the Catholic Bishops have a consistent history of telling truth to power,” Shehu Sani wrote on X.
“They have never been partisan. Every President they visited, they bring him a gift of Bitter Kola instead of Olive Oil.”
Also, the Northern Christian Association (NCA) knocked Bwala for berating the Catholic Bishops.
In a statement issued on Sunday, John Hayab who is the NCA chairman, said Bwala and the government he represents must not create division within the Christian community for political reasons.
“We should tell Bwala to know that Catholics are Christians and Nigerians.
“Our members are Catholics, Baptist, ECWA, Methodist, Anglican, Pentecostals and people of all denominations. We refuse to be divided by Bwala’s politics of division,” Hayab stated.
“Our Cardinal is our respected leader and the Bishops that visited the President went to speak to him about humanity, Christians and all of us, not only Catholics,” he said.
“It is therefore shameful and a disservice to Tinubu for his spokesperson to disrespect our Cardinal. An honest counsel has been given to Mr. President for his own good and for a better Nigeria.
“Any voice of greed, propaganda or disconnect with the citizens by any government appointee like Bwala should be seen as those destroying the country for their selfish interest, not minding the larger population.
“The NCA knows that our Catholic Bishops mean well and love the President and the country more than those insulting their honest counsel,” he said.
