Singer Peter Okoye of the Psquare fame has apologised to Nigerians over his comment that seems to undermine Nigerian spoken languages.
Mr. P as he is fondly called had made refrence to his kids speaking French and would love to own a property in Paris. And an X social media user then asked if his kids speak lgbo Okoye responded “Who Naija language help? This did not go down well with his fans and other socia media users.
“If my response to ‘Who Naija language help?’ upset some people, I apologise and take full responsibility for my words. That doesn’t mean I hate Nigerian languages or our culture,” He posted in response to the blow back.
“At no point did I say I hate the Igbo language or Igbo culture. I said ‘Naija language,’ referring to the different languages in Nigeria, but some individuals twisted it and made it seem like I specifically mentioned Igbo. I didn’t.
“That said, I still take responsibility for how my words were received.”
