The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has congratulated the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) following the country’s historic victory at the 2026 U18 Boys’ African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt.
In a congratulatory letter dated July 30, 2026, CAVB President and FIVB Executive Vice-President, Mrs. Bouchra Hajji, praised the federation, led by its President, Engineer Musa Maniyunda Nimrod, for guiding the Nigerian team to continental glory.
Hajji described Nigeria’s triumph as a reflection of the federation’s dedication, discipline and sustained investment in youth development, noting that emerging champions in such a highly competitive tournament was a remarkable achievement.
She extended congratulations not only to the federation’s leadership and Board of Administration, but also to the technical crew, support staff and the victorious players, whose commitment and outstanding performances earned them the African title.
According to the CAVB President, the championship success demonstrates the strength of Nigeria’s youth development programme and its long-term vision for the growth of volleyball in the country.
She also stressed that Nigeria’s continued investment in nurturing young athletes is setting an example for the rest of Africa while contributing significantly to the development of volleyball across the continent.
Encouraging the federation to build on its latest success, Hajji expressed confidence that the current generation of Nigerian players would achieve even greater success on both the continental and international stages.
She concluded by wishing the Nigeria Volleyball Federation continued success in its future endeavours and expressed optimism that the newly crowned African champions would inspire the next generation of volleyball stars across Africa.
