Nigerian athletes and coaches are having a good time in their training camp ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games billed to start July 25 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Nigerian delegation is having a stopover in Aberdeen where they have been rounding off their preparations.
So far reports from the camp suggest that the National Sports Commission has made life comfortable for the athletes and coaches.
“For a long time in our history of preparations for international competitions we have never had it so good,” said coach Gabriel Opuana.
“The accommodation and training facilities are excellent, the food is good, the staff of the hotel are very nice and so far we haven’t any of those usually issues we normally have in Camp.”
Opuana said the NSC has done well with the excellent arrangements and the attention given to the athletes welfare.
“The athletes are happy, a reasonable daily allowance is being paid, kits have been supplied.
“We are happy to have Yusuf Alli around and he is always available to provide everything that is needed, the NSC has done a job we must commend them.”
