Social media influencer and content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna a.k.a “Odogwu of Asaba,” has been arrested by the Delta State Police following allegations of causing the death of a 20-year-old woman he sexually assaulted.
His arrest came on the heels of a public outcry over the alleged rape of the woman identified as Favour Agbor a nursing student who died after ingesting poison after being traumatised by the incident.
Delta State Police Spokesperson Bright Edafe said in a statement that Odogwu Asaba, 40, allegedly took the woman into a hotel where he repeatedly raped and physically assaulted her on June 1.
Odogwu Asaba had reportedly tricked the woman into coming to Asaba on the premise of teaching her the act of content creating. Before she took her life she recorded details of her ordeal.
Odogwu Asaba made useful to the police in their investigation of the case. Delta State Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, assured the public, family and friends that the case would be thoroughly investigated
“The Command remains committed to ensuring justice and appropriate legal action in accordance with the law,” the police boss stated.
