Veteran athletics coach and founder of All Sports Academy Nimo, Johnny Igboka has praised the recent reelection of Anambra Football Association chairman Chikelue Iloenyosi, saying grassroots football in the Anambra State will receive more boost.
Coach Igboka a renowned grassroots talent developer in athletics and football noted Anambra State is immensely blessed with sports talents and only a solid grassroots programme will unveil such talents.
He said Iloenyosi a former Super Eagles defender has demonstrated that he is a lover of grassroots sports development and backed it with initiative, which are not just mere competitions.
“We are very pleased with his reelection unopposed; it shows the level of his commitment to the development of football.
“He had shown interest in what we are doing at the All Sports Academy, we are glad he’s continuing with his agenda.
“We all know his pedigree as a footballer and administrator; I call on all stakeholders in Anambra to support him and give him a free hand to work.
“He can reposition Anambra Football whether at the grassroots or professional level,” said coach Igboka.
Stakeholders gave a fresh mandate to Iloenyosi based on the grassroots developmental programmes he embarked upon. According to coach Igboka there are results for everyone to see.
“It was wise to vote for continuity rather to than bring on board someone else that might jettison the good work Iloenyosi has started.
