African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore Tuesday was granted hard bail conditions by a Federal High Court siting in Abuja where he is standing trial on alleged cybercrime charges
Presiding judge Justice Mohammed Umar said Sowore would have to pay a ₦200 million bond, surrender his passport document, present the traditional ruler of his hometown and a property owner in Abuja as his sureties who must be verified by the prosecution.
The judge thereafter released the defendant to his lawyers and adjourned the case until Monday, July 6, for the opening of Sowore’s defence.
Sowore who was previously granted bail on personal recognition was committed to Kuje prison custody by the same judge after he skip a trial date on June 16.
The DSS is prosecuting Sowore for allegedly making false claims against the person of President Bola Tinubu by referring to him as “a criminal” in a post he made on his “X” and Facebook accounts
