Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho’s claims that he knew the politicians behind the abduction of 47 students and teachers from Oyo State warrants an invitation from the Department of State Security.
According to Paul Ibe who is a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Igboho should be telling the security agencies all he knows about Oyo students who have been under captive for almost three weeks.
Igboho had told a gathering of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) members, that he knew the politicians who are behind the heinous crime of taking children who are as young as two years old.
“Since Sunday Igboho claims to know those behind the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire, Oyo State, I think the DSS and other security agencies should invite him to release those names. Every option should be on the table to fast-track the safe release of the school children and teachers,” Ibe wrote on his X social media platform.
Ibe said while working on the rescue of the Oyo students, attention should also be given to the 50 school children snatched by gun men in Mussa community, Borno State.
Ibe wondered why no high-level government delegation had been dispatched to Borno and why similar security measures, including the deployment of forest guards, had not been announced for the affected communities in the North-East.
