Newcastle United are reported to have tabled a €24m bid for teenage sensation Zadok Yohanna dubbed the “Nigerian Neymar.”
Bauchi State born Yohanna has impressed football watchers this season at his Swedish club AIK and has attracted interest from top European clubs Chelsea, Brighton, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, AFC Ajax and Club Brugge KV.
According to reports Newcastle United are moving fast to clinch a deal with the youngster who AIK valued at €30m, to boost their attacking options ahead of the 2027 season.
Brighton are reported to have reached an agreement with the player, but it remains to be seen if they can outwit Newcastle United with a bigger offer which AIK will likely consider.
Football scouts have high opinion of the 18 years Yohanna who horned his football skills with Ikon Allah Football Academy in Kaduna without playing for any Nigerian club side. He is regarded for his “blistering pace and dribbling skills” and also a left-footed right-winger, who can shoot.
He scored two goals and three assists from seven appearances for AIK this season.
