A military man accused of murdering a couple he was living with is now on the run, and the Ghana police have offered a GHC100,000 (about N13m) reward for any information leading to his arrest.
According to the police the suspect identified as Prince Krah was last seen with the couple identified as Ebenezer Kwabena Obiri, 45, and Mary Anim, 22, before they were murdered in their one-bedroom apartment at Saki near Tema, Ghana on May 1. It was gathered that the suspect was a good friend of Kwabena Obiri and they were seen together on April 30, 2026, before the double murder. According to reports the suspect vanished from the crime scene with a substantial amount of cash, which according to reports could be the motive for the murders.
The couple were discovered dead with several machete cuts to their bodies.
A statement signed by the Criminal Investigation Department spokesperson Brigitte Babanawo there is a magistrate court warrant for the arrest of the suspect who is believed to be hiding inside one of the military barracks in Tamale.
