Ace standup comedian Jephthah Bowoto a.k.a Akpororo, has urged the Nigeria Police Force to also investigate the logistic company that sent the parcel, which led to the public execution of a youth in Delta State.
Oghenemine Ogidi, 28, was tragically killed by a group of policemen Sunday in Effurun, where he had gone to collect a package, which allegedly contained a Bretta pistol and live ammunition.
He was shot dead by a police officer, identified as Usman Nuhu, despite his pleas for his life to be spared and pledging to cooperate. Nuhu and the other officers involved in the killing have been dismissed by the police and would be facing prosecution.
Akpororo said the matter must not end there. He noted that the logistic company that sent the package also have some questions to answer.
“Every company is expected to check a parcel before way billing it to its destination. Why was this not followed? The staff who received and packaged this item from the point of origin must be questioned,” the comedian stated.
He further expressed concern about the officer’s conduct, suggesting that the quick resort to lethal force indicated deeper irregularities in the case.
