President Bola Tinubu’s chief of staff Femi Gbajabiamila said Nafiu Bala Gombe and Leke Abejide have his support to complete the job of dismantle the African Democratic Congress.
Bala Gombe and Abejide a House of Representatives member are leading a faction of the ADC that is currently embroiled in legal battle as the faction led by David Mark claimed to be authentic authority.
“Don’t come to APC. Stay in ADC and scatter them. We like what you’re doing,” Gbajabiamila said while hosting Abejide.
“No, no, no, stay in ADC and win your election. Also, bring Bala Gombe, and we’ll support him. Good luck in court”.
Meanwhile Bala Gombe has claimed that he was deceived into attending the ceremony where the ADC was handed over to David Mark.
“I was tricked to attend the handing-over ceremony to David Mark. Ralph told me that it was just adoption of new members for the coalition movement.
“But on the same day, Ralph Nwosu former national chairman announced his resignation, and on the same day, he announced David Mark and other excos,” said Bala Gombe in an interview with Africa Independent Television on Monday.
The crisis within the ADC has deepened ahead of the 2027 general elections, with rival camps loyal to Mark, Gombe and former presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu laying claim to the party’s leadership.
Recall that the Supreme Court has fixed April 22 for the hearing of an appeal arising from the party’s leadership crisis filed by David Mark.
