Iran has hinted that it would not be part of a fresh peace talks with the USA to end the Middle East crisis. The talks are scheduled for Monday evening in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The first peace talks also in Islamabad yielded no breakthrough with the US and Iran refusing to make concessions.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday that Tehran is yet to decide whether to attend a second round of peace talks with the US in Pakistan.
In a press briefing, ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran had “no plans” for fresh negotiations, and that “no decision” had been made.”
Baqaei added that Iran would not change its demands, and described US proposals as “unrealistic.”
Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz at the weekend as the US seized an Iranian cargo sheep thus escalating tension before the expiration of the two weeks ceasefire both sides had earlier agreed on.
US President Donald Trump Threatened to resume strikes against Tehran, if they failed to negotiate an end to war, that has sent global economic shock waves. Energy prices rose sharply on Monday amidst the tensions.
