The Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by former governor Bukola Saraki that a case filed against in connection to the Offa robbery of 2018 was a political witch hunt.
According Kwara APC publicity secretary, Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatude, the case against Saraki was based on evidence and facts adding the former Senate president ought to submit himself for trial in court and shouldn’t have anything to worry about if he is innocent
“The court deals with evidence and facts, not dramatic statements that seek to erase history,” said Babatude in a statement Saturday.
“Rather than throwing tantrums like a child whose lollipop was taken away, we advise him to go face his trial and let the court establish his guilt or otherwise.”
Reacting to Saraki’s denial of any link to the convicted suspects in the Offa robbery incident, Babatude added: “Senator Saraki’s denial of link with the murderers is laughable and characteristically deceitful, given the large volume of evidence to the contrary. Only cowards make such denial.”
