Ifeanyi Okowa...

Former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa has his ambition to clinch the Delta North Senatorial district seat under scrutiny as he faces opposition from youths in that domain.
According to a group, the Coalition of Delta North Youths, Okowa’s quest to contest for the seat in the 2027 election is not acceptable to the youths.
Speaking in a media chat Saturday in Agbor conveners of the coalition, Benjamin Atagama-Ofochi, Kingsley Kainehi, and Vice President II of the Movement for the Emancipation of Anioma Nation, Mr. Agholor Okoh, urged Okowa to go home having dominated the political space in Delta North for long period.
According to the group Okowa should not be allowed to contest the election in 2027 until clears himself of the alleged N1.3 trillion corruption charges reportedly brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The coalition said their opposition was driven by a desire to create opportunities for younger politicians in the district and end what they described as political oppression and dominance.
Okowa should he push ahead with his ambition will slug it out with incumbent Senator representing Delta North Ned Nwoko and it remain to be seen how both men will navigate the upcoming storm since they both belong to the All-Progressive Congress.
