Ademola Lookman put his name on the score sheet as Atletico Madrid survived a Barcelona onslaught and sailed into the semi-final of the Champions League on Tuesday night at the Metropolitano.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in just four minutes of play and it looked like Barcelona will get their pound of flesh when Ferran Torres added the second in the 24th minute cancelling Atletico Madrid’s two goals advantage from the first leg.
But the Diego Simeone made their luck count in the 31st minute, with Marcos Llorente driving down the right and squaring it perfectly for Ademola Lookman, who drilled home first time.
His goal was enough to seal a 3-2 aggregate win for Atletico, they will face either Arsenal or Sporting CP in the semi-finals as they look to reach the final for the first time since 2016.
