Paul Onuachu’s muscle injury suffered during training Thursday is giving Trabzonspor coach Fatih Tekke cause for concern as his side drew 1-1 with Alanyaspor Saturday in Turkish Super Lig clash.
Onuachu who has been carrying the club’s ambition to win the league missed the match even as doctors are unsure for how long he would be out of action. He is currently leading the Turkish League scorer’s chart with 22 goals.
“Onuachu’s injury saddened us. We’ve had a week full of unexpected things,” Tekke told Halk TV
Onuachu’s absence was felt Saturday his injury is seen as a major blow for Trabzonspor, who will now look for alternative attacking solutions as they continue their push in the league. Against Alanyaspor Ozan Tufan opened scoring in the 58th minute, while Güven Yalçın equalised from the spot in the 67th minute for the home side.
Midfielder Anthony Nwakaeme and defender Chibuike Nwaiwu started for Trabzonspor in the game.
League leaders with 67 points Galatasaray play at home against Kocaelispor on Sunday.
