Atletico Madrid are one leg into the semi-final of the Champions League after beating Barcelona 2-0 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.
Ahead of the second leg in the Spanish capital, attacking midfielder Ademola Lookman who played deep in the game said his teammates need reserve their celebration till the job is done in the second leg on Tuesday.
“It’s going to be a massive challenge, a significant game. We understand that. Calm heads, for sure. We’ll approach each game as it comes.
“It has been nice, it has been great actually, long may it continue.”
“It was a good result, the performance of the team, especially not to concede here.
“It shows the work everyone’s been doing and the togetherness,” Lookman told TNT Sports.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone also insisted that the tie is far from being over. He admitted to defending deep to prevent Barcelona from unleashing its potent strike force and he was excited to head home with a two-goal advantage.
In their LaLiga meeting last weekend at the Metropolitano Stadium, Barcelona ran away with a 2-0 win and according to Simeone that is something Atletico must prevent from happening again.
“That final blow is never simple when the margin is slim and the stakes are high.”
“The opposition kept their cool and secured a good result on home soil. We know what awaits us next Tuesday; it will be huge, but we are ready.”
Lookman marked by Jules Kounde and Pau Cubarsi.
