A Nigerian simply identified as Chucks has been arrested in New Delhi, India after evading justice for many years.
According to the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, Chucks was involved in a narcotics case registered in Chandigarh. But had been hiding from law enforcement agencies.
However, acting on intelligence the police arrested Chuks near Tilak Nagar Metro Station on Saturday March 14.
Chucks had visited Tilak Nagar area to meet one of his contacts when he was cornered by the police who have been on his trail for a long time.
The police said Chucks tried to run away when he realised the officers were closing in. However, the team chased him down and managed to overpower him before he could escape.
Chucks arrived in New Delhi in 2015 on a tourist visa. He started dealing in clothes, but moved into the drugs business to earn more money.
He allegedly supplied drugs and built a network that transported narcotic substances from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.
Investigators believe he may have been part of larger supply chain involved in drug distribution across multiple states.
The police are now questioning him further to identify his associates and trace wider network linked to the operation.
