ADC ward secretariat...vandalised.

Gunmen suspected to be hired political thugs Friday opened fire on the convoy of former Rivers State governor and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The incident happened between Ubima Mr. Amaechi’s hometown and Omuanwa in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. There was no report of any causality as Amaechi’s security team responded to the attack.
It was gathered that the thugs had blocked the road preventing any vehicle bearing the ADC logo from going through. But they were out gunned by Amaechi’s security team.
Amaechi was visiting his community to carry out his e-registration as a member of the ADC.
On Thursday night the thugs had set ablaze the ward office of the ADC in Ubima. They also sprayed bullets into Amaechi’s family home.
Addressing hundreds of members of the party, who were present to witness the e-registration exercise, Amaechi called for calm.
Amaechi thanked the Commissioner of Police, the Director of DSS and the Commandant of NSCDC for their swift intervention.
Meanwhile the ADC has condemned the attacks. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the arson was part of a troubling pattern of intimidation against its members, noting that only a few days earlier, some ADC supporters were shot at during a political gathering and that other party offices had also been targeted in recent months.
