Senate president Godswill Akpabio said he has directed his lawyers to withdraw all pending lawsuits against Senator Natasha and other individuals.
Akpabio who was at a 2026 cross over service at Sacred Heart Parish, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said he arrived at the decision after a sermon by the officiating priest touch his heart.
“I had almost nine cases in court against some individuals who defamed me, who lied against me and slandered my name. But as I listened to the priest, I suddenly realised he was speaking to me,” Akpabio said.
He added that the message prompted him to forgive those involved, leading to his decision to discontinue all legal actions.
“Therefore, I hereby direct my solicitors to withdraw all lawsuits against them,” the Senate President stated.
In December 2025, Akpabio filed a N200 billion defamation suit at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court in Abuja against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi central, over sexual harassment allegations made against him.
This led to a long political feud between Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The Kogi Central Senator was suspended from the Senate for six months. She stated her readiness to prove in court she was sexually harassed by the former Akwa Ibom governor.
