A man identified as Ikolo Ochuko a barber has been beaten to death by thugs allegedly hired by his girlfriend’s father.
According to various reports, the incident happened on December 12
at Ugboroke Community, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. Ochuko died from the injuries he sustained during the beatings on December 20 at the hospital.
The girl’s father simply identified as Okandeji had warned Ochuko,35, to stop seeing his 20 years-old daughter, because he doesn’t want to be an in-law to a barber.
Ochuko gave up his love following the threats and advice from friends and family, but Okandeji was still not satisfied, he decided to teach Ochuko a life lesson.
He was attacked by thugs while working at his barber’s shop and was beaten mercilessly by the thugs allegedly sent by Okandeji. He later died in hospital.
The thugs fled the community on hearing the news of Ochuko’s demise. However, Okandeji was arrested by the police.
Delta State Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, responding to incident on December 31, said the Delta State Police command was yet to receive a report of the brutal assault on Ochuko.
