Perhaps the days of petrol scarcity are over for Nigerians as the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Dangote Refinery have reached an agreement for lifting petroleum products directly from the Dangote facility, eliminating middlemen.
IPMAN national president Abubakar Garima, made the disclosure Monday in Abuja adding that with the agreement petroleum products would be readily available in all states of the federation. He stated that the Dangote refinery would be supported by IPMAN members as its success would benefit the country economically.
“After meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we are pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets,” said Mr. Garima.
“IPMAN members should rely on Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for white products, creating more job opportunities and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.”
Dangote Refinery, pledged to commence supply of products to over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide.
IPMAN hopes that with agreement there would be no hindrances in loading of products from the Dangote Refinery. The body claimed that despite paying ₦40bn to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), its members couldn’t lift products.
Dangote Refinery absolved themselves from any blame concerning the payment. Since they did not receive any money from IPMAN.
