Prepations at all levels have intensified for the maiden Gombe Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships billed for November 11-16, 2024 at the Pantami Stadium Gombe.
Over 85 Secondary Schools from 11 Local Government Areas in Gombe State, have been registered to participate in the event, which is the first of its kind in the history of sporting programs in the State.
Over 65 Secondary Schools Games Masters have since been trained for the meet with an estimated number of about 3,065 young athletes to be engaged for the premier Championships.
Works at the event Games Village where AthIetes will Camp is already completed as AthIetes training and conditioning is on-going in various Schools.
The Chairman Main Organising Committee (MoC) Hon. Ahmad Shuaibu Gara-Gombe directed participating Schools Principals, Athletes and all Stakeholders to prepare their student-athletes for the biggest talents hunt Championships.
Hon. Gara-Gombe, the Chairman/CEO of Green White Green (GWG) Sports Center Ltd also expressed gratitude for the seamless resolution of the events date with relevant Stakeholders from Ministry of Sports and Education which was transmitted through their directors namely Mrs. Zainab Isyaku Adamu, Isah Ali Doho respectively.
