An Owerri man is sobering up in police custody after he allegedly pushing his girlfriend’s sister from a two-storey building because she allegedly refused his sexual advances.
According to reports the suspect identified as 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph, was infuriated after the victim 17-years-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore turned down his request for sex and they got into an argument. He then pushed her from the two storey building located at Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikenegbu, Owerri on November 1.
The man was seen in a video posted on Facebook being marched to a waiting van, which took him to the police state as people from the neighbourhood looked for an opportunity to lay their hands on him.
Imo State police spokesperson DSP Henry Okoye, said the young lady survived the fall, but remained in critical condition in a hospital.
Okoye said in a statement Monday: “The suspect is currently undergoing investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and facilitate necessary legal action.”
