Nigeria Democratic Congress national leader Seriake Dickson has promised to make incumbent Bayelsa State governor Douye Diri pay for “selling Bayelsa” to the All-Progressives Congress.
Senator Dickson who was speaking during an NDC campaign stop in his home state and his community Toru-Orua said his predecessor betrayed Bayelsa State and Peoples Democratic Party, which brought him to power by joining the APC.
“You have surrendered Bayelsa to APC. You have sold Bayelsa to APC and you will pay for it in 2027.
“Bayelsa is PDP and PDP is Bayelsa. You cannot sell our state because of your second term ambition. We gave you a PDP ticket; we made you governor twice. Now you want to give Bayelsa to APC. It will not work. We will reclaim Bayelsa in 2027,” Senator Dickson declared.
However, a member of the governor Diri’s kitchen cabinet Miriki Ebikibina, said Senator Dickson remarks were uncalled for adding that as a former governor of the State, he needed to be measured in his speech.

“The man is tired. He needs to go home. Tinubu must go and rest. We want him to go and rest.
“Today, we have a country that produces the highest number of poor people in the world. Today, we have a country where our people are hungry. Nigerians don’t know where the next meal will come from.”
