Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, debunked claims that he participated in a protest against former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Pastor Adegboye has been called by a section of Nigerians who wondering why his radio silence in the current economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu, when he participated in protests against President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.
But speaking during Sunday’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adegboye explained to his listening congregation that he only participated in a march demanding an end to corruption in the country. He described the march as a prayer walk against corruption, and it was during President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime in 2024.
“I did not carry any placard against Jonathan. What we did was a march against corruption.
“I have never protested against any government. My own is to pray for those in authority.
“I carried the placard, I can’t deny that, but I did not carry it in protest against Jonathan. It was a prayer walk, and the CAN chairman instructed churches to do so. Always investigate before sharing unverified stories.”
