A pastor in Wickliffe Ohio USA has set the internet into frenzy after videos of him introducing a second wife sparked debate about Christianity and polygamy.
On Sunday October 25 pastor Israel T Ford and his first wife pastor Lydia Ford on the alter introduced Shakayla Ford as a new addition to their marital life.
“As a nation we have been taught that a man should have only one wife. This is unbiblical,” pastor Israel Ford said.
“I understand that this is an unpopular truth that we have gotten away from, and many pastors will not preach
“I have no plans to choose a pleasing man over what God has revealed.”
He stated that people may not agree with him, but it is own life.
“People may not accept this and choose to disconnect, and that is ok! This life will be over soon, and we can all laugh about it in Heaven. Until then, God bless.”
His first wife Lydia supported him saying: “My husband, our prophet, he has a second wife.”
The second wife who also is the member of the church joined in the celebrating their new life, saying it was family dynamics.
