Michael Olise was a star performer as Bayern Munich zipped up RB Leipzig with a 6-1 win in Saturday’s Bundesliga, now his teammates Harry Kane and Joshua Kimmich are lamenting his absence in Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Arsenal.
Olise at the tail end of Bayern Munich Champions League clash against Viking FK of Norway was given an avoidable red card and will now miss the game against Arsenal on Wednesday.
“When one of your most important players is missing, you’re definitely going to feel it,” said Kane.
“He’s obviously very disappointed. He wants to play in every game…I also said afterwards that he would miss a great game on Wednesday, and I know he really wanted to be involved in it. That’s part of life.”
Kimmich added that it was worrisome Olise won’t be playing coupled with the fact that Bayern have some injury concerns.
“We have one or two players carrying knocks from today, I hope it’s nothing serious. Michael [Olise] will be unavailable due to the red card. Obviously, that makes things a bit more difficult for us, especially when it comes to replacing him in a top match like this,” said Kimmich.
“But we have plenty of quality in the squad and will give it everything we’ve got. I’m really looking forward to the game.”
