Trump Tinubu...

President Bola Tinubu lawyers have filed a suit asking a United States federal court to block fresh attempt by American transparency activist Aaron Greenspan to introduce new records in his lawsuit against Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to release Tinubu’s alleged involvement in narcotics trade.
Tinubu’s objection was filed October 15, 2026, before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, where Greenspan is seeking the release of documents relating to investigations involving Tinubu and others in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Court documents show that Tinubu’s lawyers opposed Greenspan’s request for the court to take judicial notice of additional public records concerning alleged hacking activities, criminal proceedings and media reports.
Greenspan had filed the application on October 8, seeking to introduce the materials to support a separate request for leave to conduct limited discovery from Tinubu.
Tinubu’s legal team said the materials did not establish the connection Greenspan was seeking to establish between the alleged hacking activities and his ongoing legal battle.
They also faulted the timing of the application, saying it came more than a week after Greenspan filed his reply in support of his discovery request.
The lawyers further argued that the 176 pages of additional materials cited by Greenspan were already available and should have been included in his earlier filings.
According to them, such materials cannot automatically be accepted as proof of the claims contained in them.
“News articles are not appropriate for judicial notice for the truth, content, or veracity of their claims,” the lawyers argued.
