The family of Unity Ekuevugbe Adeda, has accused the government of shielding the commissioner who order his men to beat him to death.
Mr. Adede a director in the Delta State ministry of secondary school education was savagely brutalised by men unleashed on him by the commissioner of secondary school education Mr. Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, during a minor disagreement last Thursday at the government secretariat in Asaba, the State capital. He died at the hospital later from his injuries.
So far Dr. Ashibogwu is said to be on the run and the Delta State government itself seem not be in a hurry to facilitate his arrest and also the men who laid hands on Mr. Adeda.
According to a sibling of the late director, Lloyd Sodje Adeda, the commissioner is being protected by the Delta State government from arrest and the family would not be speaking to the panel of inquiry set up by the government till the commissioner and the men who assaulted his brother are arrested by the police.
Writing on his Facebook social media platform Mr. Sodje Adeda said: “The Chief Prime Suspect, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu (an Agent of the Government) And Other Suspects Have Not Been Brought To Book.”
“The State Government should make a public statement on this before any contact with the Family,” he wrote.
However, a delegation of the Delta State government who visited the family assured that the late Adeda will get justice.
