Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face Guinea Bissau’s Djurtus in Tuesday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the September 24 National Stadium in Bissau and the hosts have promised their visitors a tough game.
Guinean Bissau last Friday beat visiting Tanzania 2-0 just as the Super Eagles laboured to a 2-1 win in Uyo against Madagascar and according to Guinea Bissau striker Beto, the Djurtus will do justice to the game by playing in a different level, which will confound the Super Eagles.
“The victory against Tanzania gave confidence to the group, but the game against Nigeria will be completely different,” said Beto who plays for Fiorentina of Italy.
“We are taking this game very seriously, because we know that we will face a strong team, with players of great quality. However, our group is very well, confident and working intensely. We have been evolving game after game and I fully believe in the group, in the coaching staff and in our ability to make a good result.”
Meanwhile Super Eagles striker Akor Adams who did not click in Friday’s game against Madagascar and was replaced by Tolu Arokodare, said it has to be a win for Nigeria or nothing.
“We want to win all our games, and the Guinea-Bissau game is no different. We’re going there full of confidence, hoping to get the three points,” he told Footy-Africa.
“Like I said before, I trust this team, and together we’re going to fight to bring glory to Nigeria and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.”
