Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi seems to be everywhere at the same time. He was spotted at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan Lagos Sunday enjoying the Nigeria Premier Football League match between Ikorodu United and Enugu Rangers.
Ikorodu United beat the NPFL defending champions 2-0. And Obi who was in the company of Ikorodu United president Sanmi Doherty, felt the excitement with spectators around him as the game progressed.
Aderemi Adeoye opened scoring in the 8th minute, while Ikechukwu Junior scored Ikorodu United’s second of the evening in the 63rd minute.
During half time football fans and other admirers approached him for photographs. Ikorodu United also shared the moment on their X handle.
Obi’s is one of the candidates challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. He seems to be gaining popularity among Nigerian youths and that is giving the ruling party some head scratching moments.
