US lobby firm Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C, said it has prepared a $36m suit against President Bola Tinubu and his supporter Femi Fani-Kayode over threats to kidnap its principal Karl Von Batten.
The firm said in a statement that the suit will be filed next week at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in the United States. It alleges that Fani-Kayode was engaged in a criminal conspiracy involving the Nigerian government.
The firm also said it would contact United States, United Kingdom and European Union immigration authorities after filing the suit to seek a review of Fani-Kayode’s travel or visa status in connection with the allegations.
Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C, was hired by African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to dig up facts about President Tinubu’s alleged illicit drug involvement, while living in Chicago in the 1990s.
Meanwhile Fani-Kayode the Nigerian ambassador designate to South Africa, denied threatening Mr. Von Batten. He stated that he would be also dragging the American lobbyist to court to prove his allegations adding that he is looking at suing for a $100 million libel and defamation suit.
