The husband of the Kenyan woman an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared on her kitchen wall has gone bonkers as people flocked into his yard and he took a hoe to demolish the mud kitchen to the ground.
Last Sunday the village of Gatare in Kisii County Southwestern Keyan became a pilgrim site with Catholic Faithful and others flocking to the village to see for themselves the apparition to worship and to observe.
But the woman’s husband Charles Onsombi who had gone on trip to Mombasa returned home and was greeted by the multitude surrounding his house. The 65-years-old Onsombi was furious with the invasion of home by mobile phone wielding visitors.
“It was my wife who saw something, but on scrutiny, you know, maybe by mistake.’
“When people started coming, taking photos and whatever, what I can see on the internet is not exactly what is here,” he was quoted by the Kenyan Daily Nation.
But his attempt to dissuade people from coming to see what he believes was an ordinary kitchen wall failed to deter the visitors, he became wild chasing people away with a machete. He ultimately took a hoe and demolished the kitchen.
With nothing left to see, the numbers dwindled. But some of the business, minded visitors said Mr. Onsombi ‘lost an opportunity’ to make money.
