The police in Finland said they are investigating the death of social media influencer Olivia Oras, 27, who died while undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Oras a content creator died on September 3 and according to the Helsinki police department, they are investigating her death as a possible manslaughter case.
“The investigation is in its early stages, and there is no further information to share at this time,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Her parents Johanna Oras and Reijo Oras told Finnish investigative news outlet Yle MOT that their daughter lost consciousness during anesthesia prior to undergoing a cosmetic procedure at a private clinic in Helsinki, Finland. She was transported to Helsinki University Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, the parents reportedly said.
Olivia rose to prominence in Finland as a teenager, opening her Instagram account at age 14, where she was followed by thousands. In 2016, she was the subject of the documentary The Perfect Selfie, which followed her life for a year and a half and depicted her relationship with social media and her following.
