Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has charged Nigerians to pray to God to touch Nigerian politicians hearts so that they will stop looting the country’s resources.
Obi who was addressing a group of Christian at a worship center in Jabi Abuja submitted that it was politicians like himself that is the major problem facing the country.
“We politicians are the problem of this country. There is nothing wrong with Nigeria. What is wrong in Nigeria is the politicians, the leadership God created in this country. That’s all,” Mr Obi said. “Let God touch our hearts to use public money for public good. Always remember us in your prayers.”
According to the NDC presidential standard-bearer, Nigerians are suffering because politicians are looting the country’s resources that could help people experiencing poverty if well invested.
“Let God touch us to stop stealing. That’s why people are suffering. Remember us in your prayers. Don’t say one is good and the other one is bad. All of us. Remember us all in your prayers,” Mr Obi said.
Meanwhile former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, said on Tuesday, Obi is fond of engaging in “endless church tours” whenever elections are close.
