Family and friends of a Boston, USA teenager have been thrown into mourning following the death of a 19-years-old Frankey Wright Jr who died while trying to save his girlfriend.
Wright Jr was electrocuted as he attempted to rescue his girlfriend who had fallen into the gaps of a Boston train station platform while they were returning from celebrating Boston’s 53rd annual Caribbean Festival last Saturday.
The girlfriend lost her balance and fell, Wright saved her the first time, but the woman who seem to be unsteady on her feet fell again and as he tried once more to heave her to safety Wright Jr fell and landed on a live-wire electric rail track. He died instantly, while his girlfriend suffered critical injuries and remains in coma at the hospital.
“This appears to be a horrific tragedy and on behalf of the Transit Police Department and the entire MBTA organization we express our most sincere condolences to the decedent’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” said Transit Police Superintendent, Richard Sullivan.
Wright Jr older brother Justice Wright told the Daily Mail: “I just can’t even stomach the fact that he is gone. I am sitting in his room right now. I keep praying that he will just walk through the door.
‘I want the world to know that my brother was kind, he was humble, he was honest and whatever he put his mind to, he was able to do.
‘He should be looked at as a hero for what he did, what he thought was right and that was trying to save his girlfriend. I do feel that if he were to be alive and it were to happen again, he would do it all over again to save her.”
